Jake Lynch

Mr. Jake Lynch died Tuesday at St. Francis Hospital surrounded by his family. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Alma Lynch.  He was 88 years old. He is survived by a son, Denny Lynch (Kristi); a daughter, Sandra Smith (Johnnie); blessed to have six grandchildren:  Tonia Epps (Jonathan), Mark Lynch (Danielle), Elizabeth Lynch, Shannon Smith, Michael Smith (Jaime), Jason Smith (Cameron); was very blessed to also have nine great-grandchildren:  Daniel and Jackson Epps, Jake (JD) Lynch, Ashley Conventino, Brian, Matthew, Anna, Austin and Jake Smith; many nieces and nephews that were near and dear to him. 

He was born in Bishopville, SC the son of the late Will Lynch and Elsie Northcutt Lynch.  He has a sister, Mable Shirley of Bishopville, SC and was preceded in death by two sisters, Francis Jackson and Maggie Townsend.  He was preceded in death by three brothers, J.T. Lynch, Carey Lynch and Ben Lynch.  A U.S. Army veteran of WWII, he retired from the Army National Guard and the Charleston Air Force Base.  He is a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.  He loved his church and church family. 

The funeral service will be held in Hillcrest Baptist Church, 3595 Ashley Phosphate Road, Friday, April 22, 2011 at 10:00 AM.  Interment with military honors will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road Thursday, April 21, 2011 between 5:00 and 7:00 PM.
