Jacquelyn Mitchum Gamble

Jacquelyn Mitchum Gamble, 92, of Cross, SC, widow of David Oliver Gamble, Jr. (D.O.), entered into eternal rest Friday, November 17, 2023. Her Memorial Service will be officiated by her Nephew, Pastor Dale Mitchum and held Wednesday, December 6, 2023 in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road at 12:00 pm.  Immediate family should arrive at 10:00am.  The family will receive friends and family from 11:00am to 12:00pm in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel.  Light hors d'oeuvres will be available prior to services.  Let’s celebrate her life and her accomplishments.  
 
Jacquelyn (Jackie) was born April 9, 1931 in Bethera, SC, daughter of the late Douglas C. Mitchum and the late Agnes Mitchum. Jackie was an artist affiliated with the North Charleston Visual Arts. She spearheaded Special Education in lower South Carolina.   When she lived in Burnesville, NC, she was an Elder and life time member with First Presbyterian Church.  She was Instrumental in starting up Hospice. She loved her dog Maddie so very much, Maddie never left her side.  She loved to paint and won several awards but most of all she loved spending time with her family.
 
Survivors include her daughter, Alexis G. McBroom of Cross, SC; three grandchildren, Tara Lemmon (Bret) of Cross, SC, Scott Malone (Mindy) of Jacksonville, FL & Jamie McBroom of Littleton, CO;  eight great grandchildren: Ashley Duffie (Drew), Logan Malone, Josephine Malone, Jacob Lemmon (Katie), Travis Mohr (Riley), Garrett Mohr, Nicole Mohr and Emily Mohr; three great- great-grandchildren; many nieces & nephews; and her sister Beverly M. Jackson (Don) of Monroe, GA.

Jacquelyn was predeceased by her husband, David Oliver Gamble, Jr.; her parents; her son, David Oliver Gamble III; her two brothers, Douglas F. Mitchum and Lemuel O. Mitchum and her grandson Rodney Carter.
