Jacquelyn W. Johnson Forte, 88, of McClellanville, South Carolina, first married to the late Wayne Blease Johnson, and widow of Carl Horace Forte, entered into eternal rest Saturday, December 30, 2017. Her Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, January 2, 2018, in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road, at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Chapel Tuesday from 12:00 noon until time of the service.
Jacquelyn was born November 9, 1929 in Honeyhill, South Carolina, daughter of the late Lawrence J. Wilson and Martha Jane Hughes Wilson. She worked as a loom operator in the textile industry, and was a member of McClellanville Baptist Church. She was a fabulous cook and loved hosting meals that her entire family and the community enjoyed.
Jacquelyn is survived by her son, Wayne Blease Johnson, Jr. (Marsha) of McClellanville, SC; her daughter, Carolyn Gernt (Vic) of Cookville, TN; two sisters, Doris Johnson and Betty Britt, both of Georgetown, SC; two brothers, Eugene Wilson of Abilene, KS, and Clifford Wilson of Carnes Crossroads; 11 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Millard.
