Jacqueline Renee Thigpen

Jacqueline Renee Thigpen, 53, of North Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Monday, October 2, 2023. Her Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, October 10, 2023 in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Downtown Chapel, 232 Calhoun Street at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be private.

Renee was born August 20, 1970 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of Mary Suzanne Mylin Thigpen and the late Johnny Lewis Thigpen.

Renee graduated from Charleston Cosmetology with honors and apprenticed under France DuBois becoming an accomplished cosmetologist. She loved her craft and developed impeccable skills and expertise. Renee opened Bella Bella Salon on E. Montague Avenue. She had international clientele and treated her clients like royalty.

Renee loved to travel. She lived much larger than life and loved it. She and Edwin shared many international destinations. Renee embraced her friends and loved ones whole heartedly; she was witty and funny and many times the center of attention by just being herself. Renee could be charming, haughty, eccentric, outspoken and argumentative all in the same sentence. Boy did she have a way with words and they were always complimented with body language for emphasis! Renee loved her family unconditionally.

In 1988, Renee blessed the world with the birth of her son, Randall, he was her personal "Poopsie." Randall in turn blessed Renee with three beautiful grandchildren: Jaden, Caydence and Carson.

She is survived by her significant other of 16 years, Edwin Strauss Pearlstine; mother, Mary Suzanne Mylin Thigpen; son, Shealy Randall Peagler, Jr.; three grandchildren: Jaden Randall Peagler, Caydence Lynn Peagler, and Carson Gray Peagler all of Charleston, SC; sister, Mary Rebekah Thigpen of Port Washington, WI and her daughter, Charlotte Luann Fergus; uncle, Willis K. Mylin, Jr. (Patricia Lutge) of James Island, SC and their children: Willis Keen Mylin III, Andrew Rudolf Mylin and Ali Patricia Mylin; aunt, Vickie Roxanne Mylin Walling (Edward Clayton Walling) of Cookville, TN and their daughter, Amy Melisa Walling-Clark; aunt, Deborah Anne Mylin Pross (William Player) of Cookville, TN and their son, Jeffrey Jordan Pross; uncle, Bobby G. Thigpen (the late Linda) of Charleston, SC and their children: Barbara Lynn Dion (William)  and Susan Kathleen Getz (Mark); special friend, Mayor Keith Summey (Debbie) of N. Charleston, SC and their children: Annie Summey and Elliott Summey; and her adoring fur babies: Lil Boi, Jorge and Chloe.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Florence Crittenton Programs of SC, 19 Saint Margaret Street, Charleston, SC 29403 and/or the Charleston Animal Society, 2455 Remount Road, N. Charleston, SC 29406.
