Jacqueline McMillan Crosby, 79, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of the late Max G. Crosby died on September 22, 2024. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 o'clock, Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Grace United Methodist Church with burial in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Jackie was born on December 27, 1944, in the Hunter’s Chapel community of Bamberg County, South Carolina, daughter of the late John Henry McMillan, Sr., and the late Maggie Stokes McMillan. She worked alongside her late husband for decades to build Max G. Crosby Construction Company, a custom home builder. She owned and operated Crosby Rental Properties, which included residential and commercial properties.
She was a kind and loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She enjoyed hosting family gatherings at her home, her beach house, and at the family farm. Jackie always wanted to stay behind the scenes allowing others to shine.
Surviving are a daughter Jocelyn (Scott) Cunningham of Charleston, SC; a son Scott (Jennifer) Crosby of Charleston, SC; a brother Harvey (Hazel) McMillan of Bamberg, SC; Two sisters, Harriett (Roger) Nesbitt of Palatka, FL, and Sandra (David) Jameson, of Aiken, SC; a granddaughter Jessica Cunningham and grandsons Benjamin Cunningham, Jackson Crosby, Mikey Mizell (Zoe), all of Charleston, SC; she also leaves behind many nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to her husband, she was proceeded in death by a brother John Henry (Johnny) McMillan, Jr.
