Jackie was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, teacher and friend. She loved Jesus and rested in the assurance that she would have eternal life with Him when he called her home. She loved and enjoyed her family and friends more than anything else on earth and was happy to serve and support them in any way she could. She loved singing in the choir and teaching some of her grandchildren to play the piano. She loved Bluebonnets, Texas, working with Mary Kay cosmetics, Precious Moments figurines, sports, picnics, fireworks and going to the beach. Jackie enjoyed just going!

She married William Thomas Costas in 1956, had 4 children and was a USAF wife for 30 years. In 1996, she left Texas for home (Charleston) to marry William David Palmer, Jr., her husband and best friend.
Jackie leaves behind Bill Palmer, her precious husband for the past 21 years, her four children: Cathey Anne Costas (Jan), William Thomas Costas, Jr. (Linnea), Hellen Jeane Shewmake (Jimmy), and Paul Edwin Costas (Anna), as well as her grandchildren; Wayne, Kayla, Gayle, Abbey, Anni, Rossi and Athena and her three great-grandchildren: Josiah, Augustine and Calvin.
