J. Warren Hilton, Jr. 73, of Charleston, SC, husband of Gayle Wegner Hilton entered into eternal rest Sunday, September 7, 2014. His Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, September 10,2014 in St. John's Lutheran Church , 5 Clifford Street at 4:00 p.m. The family will receive friends in the Church, Wednesday from 2:30 p.m. until the time of service. Warren was born August 22, 1941 in Charleston, SC, son of the late Jacob Warren Hilton, Sr. and Mary Edith McElveen Hilton. Warren graduated from St. Andrews High School Class of 1959 and was a graduate of the University of South Carolina where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon. He was a veteran of the U.S Marine Corps Reserve and was a retired Federal Agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. He was as a member of The Arion and German Friendly Societies in Charleston. Warren was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church where he served as an usher and was a member of the Lutheran Men.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Gayle Hilton of Charleston, SC; four children, Robin Smith (Sam) Grossner of Chicago, IL, Warren Faber (Pam) Smith of Spartanburg, SC, William Jason (Sheryl) Hilton of Spartanburg, SC, Justin Reid (Tanya) Hilton of Lexington, SC and many loving grandchildren.
