Entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of May 30, 2012, Jacob Franklin Chassereau, Jr., 91, husband of Annie Winkle Chassereau, residence Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob F. Chassereau, Jr. are invited to attend the funeral services of the former in J.HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Committal Services to follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, this Friday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.
Jacob was born April 9, 1921 in Charleston, SC. He was the son of the late Jacob Franklin Chassereau and the late Bertha Hickman Chassereau. Mr. Chassereau was a retired First Class Gunners Mate with the United States Navy, a veteran of World War II and a Pearl Harbor Survivor. He also retired from the Charleston Naval Supply Center. Jacob was a Past Master of the Washington Masonic Lodge, member of the Charleston Elks Lodge and a member of Northbridge Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Annie Chassereau of Charleston, SC; daughter, Kathryn Ann Fath and husband Thomas of Charleston, SC; son, Wayne Franklin Chassereau and wife Ryan of Greenville, SC; nine grandchildren, Jenifer, Karen, Sarah, Jeremy, Hayley, Alec, Michael, Ellen and Jacob; six great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
