Jack Howard Russell

Jack Howard Russell, Sr. 83, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Jacqueline C. Russell, entered into eternal rest on Monday, December 13, 2021. His funeral service will be held at Holy Spirit Evangelical Lutheran Church on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 11 AM. Inurnment will be in the church columbarium. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel.

Jack was born February 6, 1938 in Charleston, South Carolina, a son of Eddie Russell and Linnie Driggers Russell. He was a retired truck driver with Watkins Motor Lines. A graduate of Murray Vocational School, Jack also attended Charleston High excelling in football and baseball and his sportsmanship earned him the nickname "Jack the Ripper." He also attended Trident Technical College.

Jack honorably served his country prior to the Vietnam Conflict in the US Army as a member of the 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, NC. He was a member of Holy Spirit Evangelical Lutheran Church; Sea Island Yacht Club and was very active at the St. Andrews Playground during the years that his sons were growing up.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jacqueline C. Russell; his sons, Chip (Tracy) of Murrells Inlet, SC, Tim of Moncks Corner, SC and Rick (Susana) of Fredericksburg, VA. He is also survived by granddaughters: Meghan, Carly and Lorena; grandsons Brandon (Janelle) and Alex; great grandsons Landon and Lucas and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.
