Jack Raymond Lee, 87, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Ann Jacobs Lee, entered into eternal rest Monday, May 19, 2025 after a battle with brain cancer. His Funeral Service will be held Friday, May 23, 2025 at Charleston Baptist Church, 13 San Miguel Road at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday, one hour prior to the service. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel.
Jack was born December 31, 1937 in Whistler, Alabama, son of the late William A. Lee, Sr. and Myrtle Sadie Lee. Jack was a graduate of Vigor High School. He served in the United States Air Force in Charleston, SC for four years in the early 60’s. He attended Trident Technical College, with a focus on welding, machine repair and industrial maintenance for both Avco Lycoming and Cummins Engine Company. He retired from Cummins in 1987 and started his own business, Jack’s Multi-Services, which he operated until 2005, serving many happy customers with his abilities to fix or repair almost anything in the home.
Jack married Ann Jacobs on November 28, 1964. Ann and Jack enjoyed singing duets together in church all throughout their marriage. They both loved music and were active in their church administration and choir. Jack had a beautiful tenor voice and served our Lord with many inspiring solos at Holmes Avenue Baptist Church and Charleston Baptist Church. In 1998 they helped form a gospel group called " The Messengers" and they enjoyed providing concerts for many churches and senior facilities throughout the Lowcountry. Then in 2000 they form another gospel group, " The Glad Reunion Singers", that actively provided music for 12 years making two recordings, Gospel Journey and Land of Living.
Jack loved boating, fishing, gardening, and woodworking. He made many beautiful furniture pieces and constructed and supervised the building two personal homes. He truly was a "Jack of all trades". He grew the vegetables and together Jack and Ann prepared them for freezing. Jack was a avid Alabama (Roll Tide!) football fan and he enjoyed supporting and following his favorite Nascar drivers and watching racing on television.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sisters, Dorothy Lee Stewart (Chuck) of Apache Junction, AZ, Vivian Lee Bozeman of Whistler, AL; brother, William "Billy" Alton Lee(Marsha), sister-in-law, Donna G.
