Jack Richard Kemp Sr., of North Charleston, SC, crossed the veil of mortality Saturday, December 8, 2012. He is survived by his wife, Gail Kemp. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road. The funeral service of Jack Kemp will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 8720 Antler Drive, Friday, December 14, 2012 at 11:00 am. Interment, Carolina Memorial Park.

Jack was born October 12, 1939 in New Ellenton, SC, the son of the late James Kemp and Elizabeth Williamson Kemp. He was an insurance agent for many years. He also served in callings of both Bishop and Patriarch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Charleston Stake. He was also a veteran of the US Air Force.

He is survived by his wife, Gail Kemp of North Charleston, SC; daughter, Darleen Lovelace (Mark) of Draper, UT; three sons, Anthony David Martin Kemp (Amanda) of Columbia, SC, Jack Richard Kemp Jr. (Carol) of Provo, UT and Patrick Kemp (Kim) of Charleston, SC; sister, Velma Stork of West Columbia, SC; brother, Stephen E. Kemp of Prosperity, SC; 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a brother, William C. Kemp.
