Jack McLean Henderson, 62, of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, August 6, 2014. A Celebration of Jack's Life will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, August 9, 2014 in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC. WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date at the beach house he loved. The family will receive friends at the funeral chapel on Saturday, August 9, 2014 from 2:00 pm until the time of the service.
Jack was born April 24, 1952 in High Point, North Carolina, son of Bettie Jarvis Morris and the late William McKinley Henderson. He was retired from sales and a member of the Charleston Rifle Club. He loved to shop, especially exploring antiques. Jack loved to have fun, going to the beach, and being with his friends, and especially his faithful dog, Christy. He was known for his outgoing personality and never met a stranger and was much loved by all who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved mother, Bettie J. Morris of Charleston; his partner of 23 years, Robert Keith Grey of Charleston, SC; his sister, Beverly Dillard and her husband, Thom of Salisbury, NC; his nieces and nephews, Kristin Haynes, Kim Dillard, and Alex Dillard; and his grand-nieces and grand-nephews, Parker, Emory, Branson, and Finley. He is also survived by his special friend, Laverne. He was preceded in death by his brother, Kenny.
