Jack I. Guedalia, 86, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Carol Ann Reeve Guedalia, entered into eternal rest Sunday, April 8, 2018. The family will receive friends Thursday, April 12, 2018 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. His Funeral and Burial Service will be private.

Jack was born September 24, 1931, in New York, NY, son of the late I. Jay Guedalia and Gertrude Passman. He served in the US Navy from 1953-1957, and then the Naval Reserve Intelligence from 1957-1991, where he achieved the rank of Captain. From 1985-1986, he was the Director of The Naval Investigative Service (NIS) (now NCIS) where he held worldwide responsibility for criminal investigation and counterintelligence. Following his retirement from NIS, he was appointed to the Charleston County Summary Court as Central Bond Court Magistrate where he served from 1987-2004. After he served as Magistrate, he was appointed as an associate judge for Charleston County Probate, a position he held from August 2004.His service career included affiliations with INTERPOL, anti-terrorism committees, and the International Association of Chiefs of Police. His service in South Carolina included numerous advisory roles in causes against substance abuse and violence against women. He was awarded the Civilian Distinguished Service Medal from the Department of Defense, The Golden Falcon award for the longest serving member of the Naval Reserve, and the South Carolina Order of the Silver Crescent.

The beloved husband of 64 years and loving father is survived by his wife, Carol Ann Guedalia of Charleston, SC, three daughters, Karen Ann Guedalia of Charleston, SC, Jean Marie Singer (David) of Fairless Hills, PA, Catherine Lea Guedalia of Charleston, SC; granddaughter, Molly Brunson of Greenwood, SC, and grandson, Jonathan Whitaker Guedalia of Boston, MA.
