Ismael Torres Ortiz

Ismael Torres-Ortiz, 60, of Johns Island, South Carolina, husband of Ellen Bowick Torres, entered into eternal rest Monday, May 12, 2014. His Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 17, 2014, in St. John's Parish Church, 3673 Maybank Highway, Johns Island, at 11:00 am. Interment to follow in St. John's Parish Churchyard. The family will receive friends Friday, May 16, 2014, in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Ismael was born June 17, 1953 in Guayama, Puerto Rico, the son of Juan Torres and Andrea Rosado-Ortiz. He graduated from Maritime High School in New York, was a retired sales associate with Walmart and a member of St. John's Parish Church.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Ellen Bowick Torres; two daughters, Andrea Ellen Torres and Sarah Cristina Torres, all of Johns Island, SC; sister, Elsie Valles-Ortiz of Kissimmee, FL; two brothers, Raul Valles-Ortiz of Odessa, FL and Rafael Valles-Ortiz of Fort Mill, SC; his canine buddy, Mushu; and other extended family and many loving friends. Ismael is preceded in death by his son, Joshua Ismael Torres.
