Isaline Kirby Thompson, 77, of James Island, formerly of Moncks Corner, passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2012. She was predeceased by her husband, Oley Melvin Thompson. The relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, Monday, April 9, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Summerville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
Isaline was born November 8, 1934 in Timmonsville, SC and was a daughter of the late Willie Larry Kirby and the late Sadie Knotts Kirby. She retired as a seamstress from Berkeley Manufacturing Company. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She was devoted to her Heavenly Father, her family and she loved animals. One of her favorite things to do was feed the squirrels every morning and watch them play on the deck.
She is survived by 2 sons: Johnny Melvin Thompson of Moncks Corner, SC and Willie George Thompson and his wife Karen of James Island, SC; 2 daughters: Wanda T. Ford and her husband Clifton of Johns Island, SC and Cheryl T. Bass and her husband Irie of Greenville, NC; 4 sisters: Irene Shull and her late husband, Oliver of West Columbia, SC, Miriam Gummerson and her husband Alford of Sumter, SC, Violet Brown and her late husband Dillon of Baltimore, MD and Pat Spears and her husband Grover of Hartsville, SC; 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her infant son: William Marvin Thompson, 2 brothers: the late William Kirby and his wife Molly, the late Wiley Kirby and his wife Helen and 1 sister: the late Lavinia Roberson and her husband John.
