Irwin Milton Batnick, 92, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Paula Zerman Batnick entered into eternal rest Monday, January 1, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. His private funeral service will be held graveside at Kahal Kadosh Beth Elohim Cemetery, Huguenin Avenue. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.
Irwin was born November 6, 1925 in Brooklyn, New York, son of Samuel Batnick and Ann Cutler Batnick. He was a WWII Army veteran. He graduated from Penn State University, where he excelled in basketball and was a member of Beta Sigma Rho Fraternity. He was a retired Clothier and owner of Snelgrove's in Charleston. Irwin was a member of Kahal Kadosh Beth Elohim Congregation.
He is survived by his wife, Paula, of Charleston; three daughters: Lisa B. McCoy and Amy B. Burckhardt (Richard), both of Charleston, SC and Carol B. Prystowsky (Joel) of Charlotte, NC; three grandchildren: Brian McCoy, Freda Prystowsky, and William Prystowsky; nephew, Andrew Salzman (Loretta).
