Irmgard S. Titus

Irmgard S. Titus, 102, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, widow of Howard S. Titus, Jr., entered into eternal rest Sunday, October 13, 2024. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, October 25, 2024, in the Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, 1204 Middle Street at 10:30 am. Interment will be in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel.

Irmgard was born February 21, 1922 in Nuremberg, Germany, daughter of the late Julius George Marburg and the late Elsa Martha Schuller Marburg. She graduated from Niagara University and owned and operated Titus Office Equipment Company in West Ashley for many years. She was an active member of Christ our King Catholic Church, a life-long Catholic, who was devoted to her church and the Blessed Mother. She served as Eucharistic Minister for years and participated in the Cenacle and Rosary Prayer Groups. Irmgard was a gregarious person who loved people, travel and her family.


She is survived by sister, Rosemarie V. Strong of Mount Pleasant; brother, Ernst K. Marburg (Judy) of Abingdon Va.; nephews, Kent Strong and Clark Strong of Mount Pleasant, SC, niece, Caranna O'Melveny (Charles) of Charlotte NC, nephew, Reed Simmons of Mount Pleasant, SC, niece, Vicki Walker of Mount Pleasant, SC; great-nephews Kyle O'Melveny, Ryan O'Melveny, Thomas Walker, Matthew Walker and special friend Peri Chapar of Mount Pleasant, SC. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased in death by her sister Elizabeth F. Simmons and brother Theodor F. Marburg.
