Irma J. Murray

Irma J. Murray, 87, of North Charleston, SC, widow of Oscar W. Murray, died Saturday, June 17, 2011 in a local hospital.  

Born September 6, 1923 in Charleston, SC; she was one of seven children of Henry G. Sharp and Ella Mae O'Brien Sharp.

Irma was very devoted to her family and formerly a very active member in her church, Wando Woods Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 62 years Oscar in 2005 and beloved granddaughter Tracy Hunsucker in 2007.

Irma is survived by her three daughters: Dolores M. Tucker and her husband Del of Goose Creek; Darlene Steele and her husband Ed of Goose Creek and Cindy Rogers and her husband Shep of Summerville; five grandchildren: Jason Berry, Elizabeth Spence and her husband Bert, Ed Steele, III, Heather Bender, Stefanie Lopez and husband JC; five great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Warren Sharp, Buddy Sharp, Gloria Masche and Juanita MacDonald all of the Charleston area. 

The funeral service will be held in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 1:00 PM.  Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, James Island.  The family will receive friends in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel Monday, June 20, 2011 between 6:00 and 8:00 PM.
