Iris Charpia, 93, of Summerville, SC, widow of Monroe L. Charpia died Tuesday, December 26, 2017. Her funeral service will be held Friday, December 29, 2017 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road at 2:00 pm. Interment, Bethany Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm in Stuhr Northwoods Chapel.

Iris was born April 24, 1924 in St. Stephen, SC, daughter of the late Leonard Chitty. She was a former production worker with the American Tobacco Company and a member of Wando Woods Baptist Church.

She is survived by daughter, Iris Latrell McLeod and her husband Donald of North Charleston, SC. She was preceded in death by her son, Dan Leonard Gehlken.
