Irene Wall Botts

Irene York Wall Botts, 92, of Mt. Pleasant, SC passed away on December 20, 2010 in a local nursing home.  The Mass of Christian Burial for Irene Botts will be Thursday, December 23, 2010 in Christ Our King Catholic Church at ten o'clock.  Prayers of Final Commendation and Farewell will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens.  Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR., INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL Wednesday evening, December 22, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 o'clock.  Mrs. Botts was born Boonville, NC, on December 3, 1918, daughter of the late Arthur Lee Wall and Hazel Shugart Wall.  She was a member of Christ Our King Catholic Church and worked for Prudential and Southern Railroad.  She was President of the Garden Club in High Point, NC. She was an Organist and Soprano Soloist at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, in High Point, NC, Assumption Catholic Church in Charlotte, NC and Stella Maris Catholic Church in Sullivans Island, SC.  She loved her family dearly and was a devoted Mother and Grandmother. Surviving are two daughters, Irena Teal and her husband, Michael of Mt. Pleasant, Margaret "Peggy" Bayne and her husband, Michael, of Brevard, NC; and two sons, Joseph A. Botts, Jr. and his wife, Alice of Sullivans Island, SC and Robert A. Botts of Mt. Pleasant, SC; one sister, Ann Wall Snyder and her husband, Jerry of Springfield, VA., eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Botts and a brother, Kermit A. Wall.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made Christ Our King Catholic Church Choir, 1149 Russell Drive, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464.
