Inga Mikkelsen Rogers Grayson, of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away peacefully surrounded by love on February 1, 2026. Her Funeral Service will be held Sunday, March 1, 2026 in the St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 405 King Street at 12:30 pm. The family will receive friends from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.
Inga was born on September 4, 1938, in Zebulon, North Carolina, to the late Ane Margaret Mikkelsen Rogers and Harry Thomas Rogers.
Inga graduated from Bunn High School in 1956 and later attended Campbell University, where she was a music major and nurtured a lifelong love of music. She dedicated 18 years of her professional life to First Citizens Bank, where she was known for her strong work ethic, reliability, and kind demeanor.
A member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church, Inga’s faith was an important part of her life and guided her relationships with family, friends, and community. While mobility prevented her active participation, she enjoyed joining services online and receiving visitation and communion from her church family.
Inga enjoyed an active and creative life. She played basketball and softball in high school and maintained a lifelong love of golf. She especially cherished time at the beach, where she loved reading and searching for shells and shark’s teeth. At home, she found joy in cooking for those she loved and caring for her plants.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bobby Lawrence Grayson; her son, Hank Grayson; her parents; and her siblings: Harry Rogers, Pauline Arnold, Lawrence Rogers, Douglas Rogers, Dorthea Pickard, Carrie Martin Max Rogers, and Jane Brannon.
Inga is survived by her loving children: Bobby Grayson (Lisa), Jamie Grayson (Regina), and Julie Blair (Travis). She was a proud grandmother to Christian Grayson, Keara Grayson, Katie Grayson Hamilton, Ane Grayson Patel, Harrison Grayson, Grayson Blair, William Blair, and Bobby Grayson, and great-grandmother to Rami Patel.
Inga will be remembered for her quiet strength, devotion to family, steady kindness, and enduring faith. Her legacy lives on through the generations she nurtured and the lives she touched.
