Ilean Rene Slacter, formerly Ilean Heiden, 86, of Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, November 16, 2022. Her graveside service will be held Friday, November 18, at Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens, 1308 Mathis Ferry Road at 1:00 pm.  Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.

Ilean was born June 18, 1936 in Toronto, Ontario Canada, daughter of the late Julius Slacter and Rose Chopchik Slacter.  She was employed for many years as a physical therapy office manager, receptionist and also taught preschool at the Jewish Community Center.  She played a significant role in bringing both the Girl and Boy Scouts along with ballet and tap dancing programs to Lake City, SC. Ilean enjoyed dancing, reading and particularly Jane Austen books. She loved teapots, teacups,  roses, Jasper Wedgewood and anything of color. 

She is survived by her three daughters; Amy Reynolds (David) of North, SC, Joy H. Parks (Neil) of Columbia, SC and Patricia Friel of Charleston, SC; one son, Daniel Heiden; former husband, Marshall Heiden of Charleston, SC; grandson, Scott Reynolds of Charleston, SC; numerous grand "fur" babies and many extended family members. 

In Addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son-in-law, Alex Friel.
