Ida Louise Crosby, a native of Charleston, South Carolina and resident of Bishop Gadsden Glen, entered into eternal rest on August 31, 2026. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Bishop Gadsden Chapel, 1 Bishop Gadsden Way, Charleston, SC 29412, with a reception to follow at the same location. Burial will take place at Old St. Andrew’s Parish Churchyard, 2604 Ashley River Road, Charleston, South Carolina. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Downtown Chapel.

She was born on November 14, 1925, the daughter of the late Melvin L. Crosby and Wilhelmina M. Crosby.

Louise dedicated 43 years of her life to the railroad in Charleston, retiring from CSX Transportation after a long and meaningful career. She was also a devoted member of Grace Episcopal Church Cathedral, where her faith and community were an important part of her life.

She is survived by her sister, Frances C. Tindal of Hendersonville, North Carolina; her sister-in-law, Alice B. Crosby of Cantonment, Florida; fourteen nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Louise was preceded in death by her brothers, Harvey, Elmore, Earl and Walter.
