Ida Caroline Bessinger, 95, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Burness Eugene Bessinger, entered into eternal rest Monday, December 18, 2017. The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 20, 2017 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Her Funeral Service will be held Thursday, December 21, 2017 in Fort Johnson Baptist Church, 1473 Camp Road at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens.

Ida was born December 10, 1922 in Beaufort, SC, daughter of the late Lonnie Z. Wetherington and Susie Johnson Wetherington. She is survived by her two daughters, Carol Rhodes-Brow of Johns Island, SC, Harriett Hall of Summerville, SC; son, James Wetherington Bessinger of Cottageville, SC; sister Agnes W. Faircloth of Charleston, SC; five grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Marie Bessinger, and son, Burness E. Bessinger, Jr.
