Hugh Glenn Horton, III

Hugh Glenn Horton, III (“Pete”), 70, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Teresa F. Horton, entered into eternal rest Sunday, November 23, 2025. His Graveside Service will be held Friday, December 5, 2025 in the Holy Cross Cemetery, 604 Fort Johnson Road at 11:00 am. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel.

Hugh was born August 10, 1955 in Scotland Neck, North Carolina, son of the late Hugh Glenn Horton, Jr. and Elizabeth Craig Horton. Pete was retired from public accounting after 40 years in partnership at Pate, Horton & Ess, PA. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Pete was an avid golfer and fisherman and in his later years loved spending time at the dog park with his beagle, Hank. He treasured the moments these hobbies gave him especially the memories he shared with those he loved. Above all, his greatest pride and happiness came from his family, especially each and every one of his nine grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Lindsay Horton Hauss (Bradley Hauss) ; son, Alex Horton ( Chelsea Horton); daughter, Emily Horton Baucom; and his sister, Elizabeth (Beth) Craig Horton.

He was preceded in death by his brother, James William Horton.
