HT1 Howard Coleman McKissick, USN (Ret.), 79, of Moncks Corner, SC, widower of Belma Kay Peagler McKissick, passed away Friday, January 23, 2015. His memorial service with full military honors, will be held Monday, January 26, 2015, in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel.

Howard was born September 5, 1935 in Columbia, Tennessee, son of the late Edward Franklin McKissick and the late Virginia Preston Cockrill McKissick. He was a retired Hull Technician 1st Class in the U.S. Navy. Howard was a member of the American Legion Post #166 in Goose Creek and V.F.W. Post #9509 in Moncks Corner.

He is survived by his son, Edward McKissick (Tracey) of Indiana; three daughters: Virginia Russell of Kansas, Cynthia Gaskins of Charleston and Tammy Boyd (Robbie) of Summerville; step-daughter, Tamara Prox (Tommy) of Moncks Corner; a sister, Ruth Hickman of Tennessee; a brother-in-law, Ronnie Davies; 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a step-son, Samuel "Chuck" Charles Ray, Jr.; two sisters, Edwina King and Ruby Davies; and a brother-in-law, Tony Hickman.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Charleston Animal Society, 2455 Remount Road, North Charleston, SC 29406.
