Horace W. Johnson, 81, husband of Jacqueline "Jackye" Skinner Johnson of Isle of Palms, South Carolina, died Tuesday, August 28, 2012. The relatives and friends of Horace Johnson are invited to attend a Celebration of His Life to be held Saturday, September 1, 2012 in the First United Methodist Church - Isle of Palms at 1:00 pm. Inurnment will follow at 3:30 p.m. in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday, August 31, 2012 in J. HENRY STUHR MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
Mr. Johnson was born July 25, 1931 in Horry County, South Carolina, son of the late Ira C Johnson and Ora Graham Johnson. He was the owner of H & J Trucking Inc. He was a member of the Isle of Palms Exchange Club, The Elks Club, the East Cooper Outboard Motor Club and enjoyed fishing, boating, traveling, cars, and loved his work.
He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline "Jackye" Johnson of Isle of Palms, SC; son, H. Keith (Debra) Johnson of Isle of Palms, SC; daughter, Colleen (Mike) Johnson-Wheeler of Isle of Palms, SC; daughter, Keri (Andy) Hunt of Lake Wales, FL; brother, Worth T. (Heidi) Johnson of Pawley's Island, SC; sister, Nedra (Kenneth) Roberts of Aynor, SC; brother, Grady (Rebecca) Johnson of Aynor, SC; sister, Joneita (Bobby) Finklea of Pamplico, SC; and seven grandchildren.
