Hilda Doscher Schumacher

Entered into eternal rest on the morning of October 5, 2010, Hilda Doscher Schumacher, beloved widow of Ralph Martin Schumacher.  Residence, Charleston, SC.  The relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral services Friday, October 8, 2010 at 10:30 am in St. Matthew's Lutheran Church.  Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens.  Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, Thursday between 4:30 and 6:30 pm.

Mrs. Schumacher was born April 27, 1921 in Charleston, SC, the daughter of John Dietrich Doscher and Azalea Olivia Hoff Doscher.  She was a graduate of Memminger High School and Rice Business School. Mrs. Schumacher was a lifelong member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church and volunteered at Roper and St. Francis Hospitals for over twenty years. She was an avid bridge player and played with a variety of bridge clubs throughout her life.

Mrs. Schumacher dedicated her life to the loving care of her family. She is survived by two daughters: Pamela S. Blank (Leonard) of James Island, SC and Dawn S. Howell (John) of Charleston, SC; five grandchildren: Dr. Jeffrey T. Blank, Edward W."Chip" Hill, III (Sandy), Pamela H. White (Jim), John Travis Howell (Shayna), and Scott S. Howell (Valerie); eight grandchildren: Robert, Emily and Mary Catherine Blank; Doscher Hill; Alexander and Jackson White; Jase Howell and Donovon Howell.
