Hester Winona Harmon

Winona Harmon, 86, of North Charleston, SC, died Monday, June 30, 2014. Her funeral service will be held Thursday, July 3, 2014 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road at 11:00 am and to honor her request please refrain from wearing black. Interment will follow in Riverview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel.

Winona was born August 14, 1927 in Comer, GA, daughter of the late Elba and Dottie Cooper. She was a member of Advent Lutheran Church, enjoyed vegetable gardening and the beautiful gardenias and camellias in her yard. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by son, Tom Harmon (Kim) of Bend, OR; daughter, Lisa Harmon Dickerson (Jimmy) of Summerville, SC; five grandchildren: Crystal Howard, Heather Collins, Wesley Craven, Tiffany Hartley (Brandon), Kody Casey (Molly); nine great-grandchildren: Blaine Jacobs, Ashleigh Howard, Nevada Howard, Cole Collins, Thomas Craven, Ostyn Hartley, T. J. Reeves, Dawson Craven, Kaiden "BooBoo" Casey and one great-grandchild on the way; brother, Goss Cooper of Comer, GA. She was preceded in death by her spouse, Thomas Watson Harmon; daughter, Carole Faith Harmon and sister, Sue Smith.
