George Pinion, 71, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, on Daniel Island, South Carolina. Born and raised in Matthews, North Carolina, George was the beloved husband of Jody Pinion, with whom he shared a life filled with love, laughter, and family.

George was a dedicated businessman who spent over 50 years working throughout the Southeast in the commercial flooring industry. He excelled in his field, but his greatest joy was his family. He was endlessly proud of his children and grandchildren.

George was considerate and generous, with a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome. He was supportive and selfless, quick-witted and precise. His handwriting was flawless, and if you needed a donut cut evenly into three equal pieces, he was your man. An avid foodie, George loved spicy foods and was always eager to try the spiciest dish on any menu. His musical tastes were wonderfully eclectic, ranging from prog rock to musical theater, a passion he especially enjoyed sharing with his family on road trips.

George was preceded in death by his parents, Herman George Pinion Sr. and Virginia Kimbrell Pinion.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jody Pinion; his sons, Ryan Pinion (Ava Johnson) of Durham, North Carolina, and Jacob Pinion (Hannah Friedman) of Los Angeles, California; his cherished grandchildren, Delphi Pinion Johnson and Mira Pinion; and many extended family members and dear friends.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. Arrangements are being handled by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations in George’s memory may be made to the American Red Cross.
