Herman Quinton Murden, Sr., 90, of Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, September 4, 2022. His Funeral Service will be held Friday, September 9, 2022 in the Ashley River Baptist Church, 1101 Savannah Hwy. at 11:00 am, with visitation beginning one hour prior. Interment will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel.
 
Herman was born June 3, 1932 in Huger, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Alden Q. Murden and Dorothy King Murden. Herman graduated St. Andrew's High School in 1952 then enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served with the 82nd Airborne and 77th Special Forces Group.  He attended The Citadel as a veteran student. Herman was the founder of Murden Construction and Murden Tile Company.
 
He is survived by his sons, Shane A. Murden, Herman Q. Murden, Jr. (Julie), and John A. Murden (Bonnie); grandchildren Andrew Q. Murden (Valerie), John A. Murden, Jr. and Jessica Murden Smith (Hunter); great grandchildren Andrew Q. Murden, Jr. and Lucy Mae Murden. 

In addition to his parents, Herman was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Shirley B. Murden; and twin brother, Harold Murden.
