Herbert Arlyn Fralix, Sr., 74, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Deloris Woodall Fralix entered into eternal rest Tuesday, May 14, 2019. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 16, 2019 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. His Funeral Service will be held Friday, May 17, 2019 in Church of the Good Shepherd, 1393 Miles Drive at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Riverview Memorial Park.
Herbert was born July 16, 1944 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late James Theodore Fralix, Sr. and Ellen Henrics Fralix. He graduated from Chicora High School in 1964. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran where he was wounded on July 4, 1967. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star, Purple heart, and Air Medal. Herbert was a retired CSX railroad conductor. He was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd, was active in the Men's Club and was a former Vestry member.
He is survived by his wife, Deloris Woodall Fralix; daughter, Angela Fralix Holcomb (David), two sons, Herbert Arlyn Fralix, Jr. (Jane) and Jason Woodall Fralix (Tina); seven grandchildren, Mandy Holcomb, Brandy Holcomb Gaetano (Zach), Patterson Fralix, Payton Fralix, Preston Fralix, Taylor Fralix, and Tanner Fralix; brother, James Fralix, Jr.; sister, Marlene Fralix Knight (Melvin), sister, Annette Fralix Leonard (Charles), sister, Joan Fralix Payne (Bobby); brother, Henry Fralix (Ann), brother, Robert Fralix, Sr. (Shirley), sister, Deborah Fralix Vergere (John). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Hill.
