Herbert Bazzle

May 19, 1934 — January 3, 2021

Herbert Bazzle, Jr., 86, of Johns Island, South Carolina, husband of Mildred H Bazzle entered into eternal rest Sunday, January 3, 2021, at home with his loving wife of sixty-six years by his side. His funeral service will be held, Wednesday, January 6, 2021, in First Baptist Church of Johns Island, 3483 Maybank Highway at 1:00pm. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until time of service. Interment following will be in Live Oak Memorial Gardens, 3903 Ashley River Road. Due to COVID protocol, all guests are required to wear a mask and practice social distancing. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway.

Herbert was born May 19, 1934, in Walterboro, South Carolina, a son of Herbert Bazzle Sr. and Minnie Craven Bazzle. He was a Superintendent at Berkeley Electric Co-op for 42 years.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred, a sister, Martha Neil Garvin (Elliott) of Johns Island, SC, and a brother, Joseph Bazzle (Donna) of Johns Island, SC. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers; Harmon Lee Bazzle, Douglas Bazzle, and sister Marion Prosser.

Herbert lived and loved his life to the fullest. He loved his wife and flowers and enjoyed working in the yard with her as they did everything together. He loved to fish and to go to Myrtle Beach. He loved his family, and although he did not have any children, he was a father to many. He was a man of few words, but it was said of him, when Herbert spoke, it was always funny or profound.

His family would like to extend a special thanks to his caregivers, Faith and Amber and his nurses, Liz, Edna, and Cheryl.
