Dr. Henry Jefferson Stuckey II, 85, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Georgina Copeland Stuckey entered into eternal rest Monday, March 8, 2021. His funeral service will be held graveside Saturday, March 13, 2021 in Old St. Andrew's Parish Churchyard, 2604 Ashley River Road at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr Inc. Downtown Chapel. Henry was born August 17, 1935 in Bishopville, South Carolina, son of the late George Thompson Stuckey and Clara Mae Moorer Stuckey Hobbs. He attended public schools and graduated from Carlisle Military Academy in Bamberg, SC. Henry was a graduate of Duke University and the Medical University of South Carolina School of Medicine (MUSC). He interned at Grady Hospital where he met his wife, Geannie.
Henry was board certified in Internal Medicine having studied at Emory University and Georgetown University. He spent two years in the U.S. Army being stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska. Following military duty, he practiced internal medicine in Charlotte, NC, retiring in 1986. Henry spent 20 years living on Calawassie Island, SC. He enjoyed traveling in his motor home, tennis, gardening and photography.
Henry is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Georgina of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; two sons: Henry Jefferson Stuckey III of Los Angeles, CA and George Randolph Stuckey (Melissa Wells) of Charleston; daughter, Julie Anne Stuckey Hani (Erwin) of Asheville, NC; sister, Dr. Katherine Stuckey (Jane Strell) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; two brothers: William I. Hobbs III (Paula) of Rock Hill, SC and Allen Hobbs of San Diego, CA; and five grandchildren: Joseph, Tyler, Preston, Jordan and John.
