Entered into eternal rest on Friday, August 12, 2011, Henry Edward "Eddie" Lewis, Jr., husband of Nancy Inabinett Lewis.  Residence, Charleston, South Carolina.  The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Edward. Lewis, Jr. are invited to attend the memorial service of the former in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL Thursday, August 18, 2011 at 11 am with military honors.  The family will receive friends at Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel Wednesday from 5 until 7 pm. 


Ed was born on September 1, 1946 in Charleston, SC, son of the late Henry Edward Lewis, Sr. and the late Mary Elizabeth Beane Lewis.  Ed was a graduate of Moultrie High School where he played basketball and baseball. He was a veteran and served in the US Air Force and retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard.  Ed was a 32� Mason and member of the Dorchester Masonic Lodge.  He was a shriner, Past President of the Dorchester Shrine Club, and a Roadrunner with the Omar Shrine Temple transporting children to and from the Shriners Hospital in Greenville, SC.  He was a member of the Charleston Area Model Railroad Train Club and enjoyed restoring model trains.  Ed enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, was a loving father and husband, and a great friend to all.


Surviving are his wife Nancy Lewis; two daughters, Dawn Marie Walters of Summerville and Jennifer Lewis of James Island; two stepsons, Marion Pinckney Davis, Jr. of Johns Island, Joey Ecklund of Summerville; three stepdaughters, Allison Renee Davis of Mt. Pleasant, Teri Cribb of Hanahan and Jodie Gayoso of St. Petersburg, FL; and 14 grandchildren.


Memorials may be made in his memory to Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC  29605-4277.
