Henry J. Harle, Sr., 81, of Charleston, South Carolina, widower of Dolores C. Harle passed away at his residence on Saturday, October 13, 2012. His Funeral Service will be held Thursday, October 18, 2012 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL 232 Calhoun Street at 3:00 pm. Prayers of Final Commendation and Farewell will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in Stuhr's Downtown Chapel with a Vigil Service at 6:00 p.m.
Henry "Hank" Harle was born February 3, 1931 in Camden, New Jersey, son of Henry Theodore Harle and Catherine Cahill Harle. He was the founder and principal of South Jersey Printing Company. He worked until retirement as the production manager of J. R. Rowell Printing Company Charleston, SC. A father of six, he was an avid fisherman who enjoyed boating and salt water fishing. He passed on his love and appreciation for the ocean to his children and grandchildren. Hank's memberships included, James Island Yacht Club, Country Club of Charleston, Knights of Columbus, and Church of the Nativity. Hank was known as a good man, with a big heart and a gentle soul. He will be deeply missed by his friends and family.
Survived by his two daughters, Donna M. Harvey (Robert) of Key West, FL, and Constance A. Jolly (Gary) of Hanahan, SC; four sons, Henry J. Harle, Jr. of Glen Burnie, MD, Joseph Ian Harle (Laurie) of Charleston, SC, Duncan Matthew Harle (Sharon) of Atlanta, GA, and Christopher Theodore Harle (Lisa) of Charleston, SC; ten grandchildren, Nancy, Danielle, Melissa, Francis Maria, Jason, Catie, Hannah, Chad, Maria Doloris, and Emma; nine great-grandchildren, and his brother, Donald F. Harle of Haddonfield, NJ.
