Helen Childers Wylie

Helen Childers Wylie, 93, of Newport News, Virginia, formerly of Charleston, and widow of Samuel E. Wylie died Tuesday, May 10, 2016. Her funeral service will be held at the graveside Saturday, May 14, 2016 in the Live Oak Memorial Gardens, 3093 Ashley River Road at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Helen was born October 5, 1922 in York, South Carolina, daughter of the late Edward Lee Childers and Emma Ashe Childers. She was a member of James Island Presbyterian Church. Helen lived a life filled with love for her family and many friends, she loved Folly Beach, travel and the arts. She never missed an opportunity to celebrate life. Helen will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Helen is survived by her son, Thomas E. Wylie (Jeanne) of Newport News, VA; two grandchildren: Chris Sparks (Audrey) of Pottstown, PA and Deb Bollig (Shaun) of Aston, PA. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Anne Wylie Sparks.
