Helen Kathryn Roberson

Helen Kathryn Keehan Roberson, 89, of Awendaw, South Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2014. Her Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, February 21, 2014 in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road. Interment will follow in Bethany Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, February 20, 2014 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral chapel.

Helen was born August 23, 1924 in Greenville, South Carolina, daughter of the late James Joseph Keehan and Rachel Winningham Keehan. She was a Warehouse Manager with John Huguley Company and a member of Mt. Olivet Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was known as a prayer warrior, and often lent a helping hand to those in need through her dedication to her Lord. Helen enjoyed flower gardening, reading, camping, feeding birds, playing Scrabble and Skipbo, and made some of the best fried chicken around.

She is survived by her children, Robert S. Roberson of Niceville, FL, Jewel R. White of Huger, SC, Charles (Debra) Roberson, Jr. of Awendaw, SC, Carol (Wilson) Riggs of Awendaw, SC, Irene (Tony) Ritchie of Mount Pleasant, SC, Betty (William) Creech of Awendaw, SC, and James (Michelle) Roberson of Florence, SC; her twenty grandchildren, thirty-four great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles Winningham and Leon Winningham.
