Helen Jean Weisent Race

Helen Jean Race, 88, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of David Clarence Race died Monday, January 13, 2014. Her Funeral Service will be held Friday, January 17, 2014 in Reed Funeral Home, 705 Raff Road SW, Canton, Ohio at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Sunset Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Reed Funeral Home Thursday, January 16, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. Local arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.

Jean was born August 5, 1925 in Canton, OH, daughter of the late Urban W. Weisent and the late Lucy Crum Weisent. She was a retired Licensed Optician, a member of OES and Rainbow Girls.

She is survived by her husband, David, of thirty eight years of Mt. Pleasant, SC; daughter, Janie Jaberg and her husband, Clair, of Mt. Pleasant, SC; two grandchildren, Lauren Sigler and her husband, Chris, of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Julie Nowicki and her husband, Ryan, of Lakewood, OH. Additional family include Eileen Mariol, Ron and Renee Carney, Jay and Dee Mariol, Paula Bourquin, Skip and Karen Weisent, Carl Race, Helen Race, Ronnie Race and Eddie Race. Jean was preceded in death by her first husband Paul Frederick Mariol.

A special lady who loved her family, the beach, knitting, and shopping with her granddaughters. She touched the hearts of all who knew her. She will be greatly missed and forever loved.
