Helen Marie Peck

Helen Marie Scheer Peck passed away on 4 October, 2012. Helen was born Monday, 28 November, 1916 in Hubbard, Marion Co., Oregon, the first child of Theodore Charles and Anna Schwabauer Scheer.

Her family moved to Camas County, Idaho in March 1920 and settled on a farm ten miles southeast of Fairfield known as the Springdale settlement. Once there, sister Emma LaVerne and brother Theodore (Jack) joined the family. The three children attended Springdale grade school. Helen attended High School in West Lynn, Oregon, graduating in 1934.

She married William Franklin Peck 26 September, 1936 at Nampa, Idaho. They farmed in the Springdale settlement until March 1945, moving to a dairy farm southeast of Meridian on South Eagle Road. Her husband William (Bill) passed away 12 June, 1963.

Helen went to work at Main & 5th Market in Boise until 1968 and then went to work for the State of Idaho, first in the Law Enforcement Division, then transferring to the Department of Health & Welfare, retiring in 1983 with 15 years of service. Retirement years were spent at Laurel Park Apartments in Boise.

In December 2007 she moved to South Carolina to be with her daughter.

Helen is predeceased by her parents, sister, brother and husband. She is survived by one son, Ronald (Judy) Peck of Salmon, Idaho; Grandson, Robert (Mandi) Peck of Denton, Montana; Granddaughter Marti (Lee) Bingham of Salmon; Daughter, Sharryn (David) Clark of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina; Grandsons Lieutenant Commander, William Clark, USN, of Newport, Rhode ISland; and Bryan (Melanie) Clark of Dallas, Texas. She has seven great-grandchildren.
