Helen Miller Paul, nee Helen Hilton Miller, 90, of Sullivans Island, SC, entered joyfully into the presence of her Lord Jesus Christ on the afternoon of June 1, 2010. Beloved wife of Caleb Huiet Paul for 68 years and devoted mother of Kathrine Rutherford Paul, Thomas Huiet Paul (the late Sylvia), Mary Ann Robeson (the late Edward), Helen Royal (Michael), and George Drummond Paul. She was the cherished grandmother of 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Huiet Paul are invited to attend her Memorial Service in Eastbridge Presbyterian Church on Friday June 4, 2010 at two o'clock. A reception will follow the service at the church. Burial will be private. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR INC., MT. PLEASANT CHAPEL.
A graduate of Furman University, she was a former Miss South Carolina. An avid tennis player for decades, Helen represented SC and the South nationally on the tennis circuit. She was a long-time member of the Ladies Benevolent Society and was dedicated to many charitable causes. Nearly burned to death in 1942, she came to a personal faith in Jesus Christ, and loved to express the words of the Apostle Paul, "I know in Whom I have believed, and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have committed to Him until that Day."
