Helen Collins Nichols

August 28, 1916 — March 24, 2017

Helen Barbara Nichols, 100, of Mount Pleasant, SC, wife of the late George Bryant Nichols, passed away peacefully Friday, March 24, 2017. A celebration of Helen's life will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at the Charleston Harbor Fish House, 32 Patriots Point Drive, Mount Pleasant from 4:00 until 6:00 pm. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel.

Helen was born August 28, 1916 in Fairfield County, Connecticut, daughter of the late Michael Collins and the late Mary Parker Heath Collins. Helen graduated from high school in Fairfield CT and went on to attend secretarial school at St Joseph's College, CT. She pursued a career in the secretarial field. Helen and her husband, George, raised their family in Old Saybrook, CT.

She is survived by her son, Chris G Nichols and his wife, Sharyn, of Isle of Palms, SC; granddaughter, Danielle Lee Nichols and her husband, Landen Ganstrom, of Mt Pleasant and his daughters, Lilli and Luna; and grandson, Kyle Nichols of Charleston. She was preceded in death by daughter, Barbara Ann Nichols; sisters, Sophie Collins and Anna Timmerman; and brother, Michael Collins.

She was an avid Yankees and Riverdogs fan and was able to celebrate her 100th Birthday with the Riverdogs.
