Entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of Friday, April 15, 2011, Helen Christine "Christy" Mitchum Mattingly, wife of Michael Dennis Mattingly.  Residence, Charleston, SC.  Relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Michael D. Mattingly are invited to attend the funeral services of the latter in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Pkwy., Monday, April 18, 2011, at 2:00 p.m.  Burial will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens.  Friends may call at Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel Sunday between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m.

Christy was born May 12, 1954 in Charleston, SC, a daughter of William R. Mitchum and the late Patricia Drake Mitchum.  She was an administrative assistant for the Department of Health and Environmental Control.

She is survived by her husband of Charleston; her father and step-mother, Connie, of Charleston; a son, Patrick Michael Mattingly of Charleston; a daughter, Patricia Ann Mattingly of Charleston; a sister, Debbie L. Shaw of Charlotte, TN; and best friends, Carolyn Schwarz-Seitz, Karen Hunter and Carol Bradham.
