June 27, 1929 — November 27, 2011

Helen Hedash Kutcher, 82, of Chesapeake, VA, and formerly of Tamaqua, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 27, 2011. The relatives and friends of Helen Kutcher are invited to attend her Memorial Mass at St. Jerome's Catholic Church in Tamaqua, PA at a later date. Burial will be private. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.

Mrs. Kutcher was born on June 27, 1929 in Coaldale, PA, daughter of the late Adam and Mary Jurba Hedash. She and her husband were owners of Kutcher's TV and Appliances from 1963 until her retirement in 1994. Helen devoted many hours to helping others while volunteering at Coaldale Hospital and while working in many facets for Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed keeping the old traditions of cooking, crocheting, knitting, and quilting, yet remained a life-long learner and braved the new world of computers. She loved to travel and experience new things. She was deeply devoted to her children and loved each of her grandchildren immensely.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, and her daughter, Kathleen Kutcher Haggerty, wife of Bruce Haggerty of Elizabethtown, KY. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Amos, Andy, Michael, and John, and a sister, Mary. Helen is survived by her two daughters, Dr. Janet Andrejco, wife of Robert Andrejco, of Chesapeake, VA and JoAnn Rodgers, wife of Charles Rodgers, of Tamaqua, PA, and her son, Joseph Kutcher, Jr., husband of ReBecca Kutcher, of Mt. Pleasant, SC; seven grandchildren, Kimberly Lynn Haggerty of Lexington, KY, Jessica Marie Haggerty of Elizabethtown, KY, Thomas Charles Rodgers of Hometown, PA, Melissa Marie Rodgers Smith of Carlisle, PA, Trista Sue Kutcher, Suzanna Marie Kutcher, and Samantha Rose Kutcher, all of Mt. Pleasant, SC; three great-grandchildren, and three sisters, Ann Griffiths, Eleanor Shears, and Irene Melnick. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Roseanne Davidson.
