Helen Kay Hunter

Helen Kay Fipps Hunter, 54, of Johns Island, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Saturday, July 11, 2015. Her Funeral Service will be held Thursday, July 16, 2015 in J. HENRY STUHR INC, WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends Thursday in Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.

Kay was born January 12, 1961 in Charleston, SC, daughter of the late Barney Lee Fipps and Hazel Hickman Fipps. She was a Home Health Care Worker with the elderly and a volunteer at Our Lady of Mercy on Johns Island, SC.

She is survived by her two daughters, Carmen Denise Hunter of Hanahan, Erin Christine Hunter of Ladson, SC; long time significant other, James Barnes of Johns Island, SC; four brothers, Barney Lee Fipps, Jr., of FL, Connie Fipps of James Island, SC, Oral Fipps, and Karl Fipps both of Johns Island, SC; seven sisters, Marie Susser of TX, Travis Cook of Goose Creek, SC, Janice Banks of Charleston, SC, Deborah Kinard, of Johns Island, SC, Barbara Bosc, Kim Caruso both of Summerville, SC, and Amy Garvin of Johns Island, SC; five grandchildren, Nathaniel Hall, Bailee Inez Hall, Chadwick Hunter Westbury, Elijah Hunter Westbury, and Justin James Hagberg, Jr.
