Helen Marie Helms, 90, of Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Thursday, November 11, 2021. Her Funeral Service will be held Monday, November 15, 2021, in J. Henry Stuhr Inc. Downtown Chapel, 232 Calhoun Street at 1:00 p.m. Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.
Helen was born February 3, 1931, in Conway, South Carolina, daughter of the late William Edward Wooley and Myrtle DuBois Wooley. She retired from Renken Boat Company where she worked for many years as a bookkeeper.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Knight (Ross) of Greenville, SC and son, Sanda B. Helms III (Tara) of Charleston, SC; siblings, Bill Wooley, Jackye Cuzzell, Jimmy Wooley and Monty Wooley; grandchildren, Stephen Knight (Jennifer), Leslie Knight, Tyler Helms (Katie), Drew Helms; great grandchildren, Mason Knight, Aubrey Rodriguez, Brooklyn Knight and a host of nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crossroads Community Church of James Island, 942 Folly Rd., Charleston, SC 29412.
The family would like to thank the ICU team at Roper Hospital, Downtown Charleston.
