Helen Parker Faris

Helen Vann Parker Faris, 89, of Goose Creek, SC, wife of the late Colonel Arthur Conway Faris, (US Army, Ret.), died on Tuesday, November 19, 2013. The relatives and friends of Helen Faris are invited to attend her Funeral Service Sunday, November 24, 2013 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL at 3:00 pm. Interment services will be held Monday in Ft. Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday in Stuhr's Mt. Pleasant Chapel from 2:00 pm until time of service.

Helen was born on December 5, 1923 in Columbia, SC daughter of the late Hubert Adrian Parker and Mary Flavia Parker. She was a retired Civil Service Employee from Ft. Jackson Army Post.

She is survived by her three daughters: Suzanne F. Hernandez (Rich) of Goose Creek, SC, Helen Conway Hollein (Leo) of Morris Plains, NJ and Martha Elizabeth Magill (John) of Charleston, SC; two sons, John David Faris (Lynn) of Alameda, CA and Robert Dale Faris (Joan) of Camden, SC; ten grandchildren: Mary Elizabeth Hollein, Kathleen Rose Hollein, Michael Christopher Hollein, Bryan Fairs Hernandez, Christina Louise Hernandez, Ashley Ryan Magill Rivera (J.R.), Crawford Lee Magill, Clinton Thomas Magill, Diana Faris Kaplenko (Alex); David Alexander Faris; three great-grandchildren: Amber Michelle Karlenko, Bryce Kaplenko, Carson Kaplenko; brother, Lewis Parker (Alma) of Seal Beach, CA and sister, Brooks Dickerson of Phoenix, AR.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Village at Summerville, 201 West 9th North Street, Summerville, SC 29483.
