Helen Wigger Carter

Helen Wigger Carter, 99, a homemaker and widow of former State Senator Allen R. Carter, of North Charleston, SC, passed on Monday, November 21, 2016. Friends and relatives are invited to attend her funeral service Wednesday, November 23, 2016 in the Highland Park Baptist Church, 6211 Murray Drive at 2:00 pm. Interment, Riverview Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors Tuesday, November 22, 2016 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in J. HENRY STUHR, INC. NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road.Helen was born November 17, 1917 the daughter of the late John D. Wigger, Sr. and the late Henrietta E. Mousseau. She was a 1936 graduate of Memminger High School. As a child she was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church. After her marriage to Allen R. Carter she became a member of Charleston Heights Baptist Church and later Highland Park Baptist Church.Helen is survived by her children: Allen R. Carter, Jr. (Brenda), Mark L. Carter (Paula), Marilyn C. Holloman (Heyward) and Margaret "Peggy" C. McDaniel (Jim); ten grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
