Helen Aytes Aldret, 90, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, September 6, 2023. Her memorial service will be held Wednesday, September 13, 2023, in the Church of The Holy Cross (Historic) 2520 Middle Street at 1:00 pm. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mt. Pleasant Chapel from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Helen was born April 7, 1933, in Islington, South Carolina, daughter of the late Lonnie Lloyd Bishop and the late Voletha Smith Bishop. She made a beautiful home for her family and will be remembered for the way she loved them. Helen was a graduate of Manatee County High School Florida. A long term member of Holy Cross Church where she was an active member from Choir to Alter Guild and numerous other roles. She was a member of the Garden Club and was a proud volunteer for 35 years with Roper Hospital. Helen loved to play bridge and bunco with her friends!
Helen is survived by daughter, Gerri (Windy) Aytes , husband Keith Marsh of Fort Mill, SC, daughter in-law Vikki Aytes and grandson, Michael Aytes, wife Maci, of Sumpter, SC. and three great grand children Paisley, Liam and Huck. She was preceded in death by sons, John A. Aytes, Jr., and Steven C. Aytes, first husband, John A. Aytes, and husband, Benjamin S, Aldret.
