Hazel was born March 12, 1928 in Aiken, South Carolina, daughter of the late Jadonis "Ja" Dorse Bonnett and Nezzie Ruth Bonnett. She was an Assistant Register of Deeds for Charleston County for 30 years before retiring. She was also a bedrock member of the First Baptist Church of Johns Island. She loved the Lord first and foremost, followed by her husband, family and friends as a close second. She loved to entertain for any and everyone, preparing scrumptious southern meals, she was a true patriot, and enjoyed laughter and a good joke anytime. She was loved by all who knew her.
She is survived by her brother, James Harold Bonnett (and sister-in-law, Janet) of Johns Island, SC; daughter, Patricia "Patsy" C. Moore & son-in-law, Jerry Moore, of Murrells Inlet, SC; two granddaughters, Serena McClamroch (and husband, Ken), Suzi Watson (and husband, Chip); two step-grandchildren, Suzanne Faulk and Brent Moore; four great-grandchildren Jordan, Logan, McKenna, and Addison; and many nieces and nephews, whom she thought of as her own children.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her honor to her favorite charities, Samaritan's Purse, Tunnel to Towers Foundation, and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
